How does the On-Hold Audio system work? Once we have produced your On-Hold Audio, we load it onto our specially produced digital play-out device. This device is solid-state, which means it has no moving parts. The advantages of this over traditional methods such as tape or CD is it's reliability. There are no motors which can burn out, and the system will automatically start running following a power interruption. In addition to this, the audio is "compressed" and "optimised" specifically for telephone use, thus giving clearer audio quality when listened to down the line. This play-back system is connected to your main telephone exchange. We provide all necessary cabling to make this possible. We will also carry out any programming and procedures needed to activate this facility on your system. How do I know if my telephone system supports On-Hold Audio? Most office telephone systems have some method of adding an On-Hold Audio feature. One our engineers can visit your premises and provide you with a free technical assessment. In many cases we can confirm if your system can be upgraded there and then. We will also advise if any additional equipment will be necessary to facilitate On-Hold Audio (some larger systems may require an expansion card), if this is necessary we will provide a full quotation to cover any additional installation expense. I currently use my favourite music CD or the radio. Why should I change? It is important to remember that unless the relevant copyright licenses are obtained and paid for, it is illegal to connect a music CD or radio to your telephone system. The audio production we provide is fully licensed to you for this purpose, and all licensing fees for both music and voiceover are covered in your subscription fee. Besides, if you have connected radio to your system you may inadvertently be advertising your competitors services. In any case, you will not be making full use of the on-hold audio facility to support your company's brand. I do not currently have any form of exchange, what can you provide? We are able to provide complete telephone systems for any size of business. Even if you are a small business or someone working from home, we can supply a system that can take a single incoming line and direct the call to many different extensions - complete with On-Hold Audio. Smaller systems can be purchased outright, or we can build this cost into your subscription. For larger organisations, we can advise and plan a system that will satisfy the communication needs of your business. Contact us for a free initial consultation. How often can I update my audio? Our entry-level subscription covers the price of two completely new audio productions per year. These can be called upon as necessary. Additional updates are available on request and can be paid for separately, or an alternative subscription package can be suggested to accommodate more regular audio updates. Can I hear what my On-Hold Audio production could sound like? Of course. We will be happy to provide a free sample CD containing a short example specific to your organisation, complete with a suggested soundtrack from our extensive music library. |
